When you thing of being possessed, what do you think of?
Do you think about Linda Blaire in the Exorcist vomiting green pea soup with white contact lenses and her head spinning around? Do you think of her speaking the most horrible, blasphemous obscenities in a man’s voice?
We’re all possessed. We belong to God, or we live in sin and are possessed by Satan. We’re possessed by the lover of our souls who gave us life and all blessings and everything good, or we are possessed by the one who wants to take our soul to hell and will accommodate us with any comforts and conveniences necessary to make sure that happens.
Our lord is the one we love, trust, and obey. Who are you loving, trusting, and obeying right now? Did someone just get your obedience away from Jesus Christ? Did you give yourself to another to be possessed?
